Four Fabulously Simple Steps for Finally Making That New Years Resolution Come True

I love this time of the year. It is a great time to reflect on the successes of last year, celebrate the wins and perhaps evenCuram Software CS0-003 commiserate over the losses. As we look towards the year ahead is normal for us to take a moment and think about what we are going to do differently. I am definitely a fan of goals and love the concept of new years resolutions, however the truth is that most of us have failed more often than we have succeeded when it comes to new years resolutions. The good news is that with a few simple tweaks this year can be different. Here are four of my favorite tips to make this your best year ever.
1.Remember changing the environment is always easier than changing habits. This step is so simple but perhaps one of the most important steps in all behaviour change If you are committed to eating different this year then you must be committed to shopping different. The easiest way to cut down on the chocolate is to buy less. Studies have shown that if we are to place a bowl of chocolate on your desk, the closer it is to you the more you will eat. Making simple tweaks in your environment can bring outrageous results. Perhaps it's time to go through your cupboards and throw out everything that will not move you in the direction of your goal. You can also use environment to help stimulate good behaviour - If you're planning on walking each morning, lay out your clothes the night before. This stuff sounds insignificant, but it will make a big difference. Try spending the weekend preparing healthy meals in advance, this is a great way to deal with those nights when you get home from work tiredCWNP PW0-100 and hungry.
2.Start Small. I always get concerned when i hear people talking about making drastic changes i.e I am going to give up coffee - if you are currently on a five a day habit then perhaps the first step is to begin by reducing your intake to three. Make it easy to win and virtually impossible to fail. If you are about to begin on an exercise program then don't commit to doing it every day. If you miss just one day then you are a failure, start by planning to exercise 3 or 4 times a week. Leave room to overachieve - success in contagious and before you know it you will be ready to take on the world. The key is to make small consistent changes throughout the year, not drastic changes for January and then back to you old habits by February.
3.In their book Switch, the Health Brothers talk about " Watching for bright spots". If you're planning on beginning an exercise program for instance, don't stress about all the days you miss. Instead, keep a constant watch on what does work. If you managed to get to the gym yesterday, how did you get away with it? Was it because you took your gym gear to work and called in on the way home or perhaps it was the accountability that comes with the personal training session that you had. Looking for what works is a powerful process. When we know what works and why it works we can help to take this "bright spot" and allow us to succeed more often.
4. Peer pressure works - tell everyone. It is amazing just what we will E20-329 do to save ourselves from looking foolish to our friends and work colleges. Tell everybody you know what your resolution is. They'll bug you about it, and you won't want to disappoint them. Just knowing that they know might be what you need to succeed. If you want you can even tell me, I promise I won't bug you but I will be silently cheering you on.
