Staying Healthy and Happy While Working From Home

Telecommuting or working from home may sound like a dream come true. You can do your tasks in the comforts of your bedroom while wearing your favorite pajamas and eating home cooked meals. It's definitely better than dealing with traffic, wearing stiff suits and hurriedly gulping down fast food. A lot of people see this as the healthy and happy alternative to the usual pattern that millions follow. Many hope to enjoy this so-called privilege sometime in their careers.
But the truth is, working from home has its fair share of challenges. However, they are manageable provided one has the drive and discipline to make it work. Here are the usual issues encountered by telecommuters and how to deal with them:
Boredom. There will be days when you long for company, especially when you take breaks. You might miss having someone to gossip over coffee and a small snack with, like what you did back in the "old days" when you worked in an office. Combat the boredom and loneliness by calling a loved one during break time. Positive and cheerful talk keeps one healthy and happy, so pick up the phone and start dialing.
Distractions. If you live with small children or other relatives, the number of distractions increases. There will always be someone calling for your attention. Or someone might be playing music or watching TV at a higher than normal volume. The distractions will vary from household to household, but all of them will certainly break your concentration and make you irritable. Make it clear to others that you need a proper atmosphere for working and their cooperation will help you a lot. As for small children, train them to respect your working hours and if possible, get a trusted adult to watch9L0-620 practice exam over them while you're busy.
Incessant snacking. You might think that keeping healthy and happy means constant snacking to keep your energy level up. What you're actually doing is piling on the pounds! Working from home means having access to your own abundant pantry, but that doesn't mean you have to invade your personal stash of munchies round-the-clock. If you feel the need to snack on something while working at your computer, choose healthy fare like roasted almonds or tofu chips, and limit yourself to small portions. Limit snacking to once or twice a day. Anything more than that is excessive and bad for your health.
Lack of exercise. Even if you have never worked out, you still got some exercise when you reported to an office five days a week. Walking to the bus stop, driving your own car, climbing the stairs instead of taking the elevator, walking a few blocks to a restaurant for lunch - all those seemingly innocent and everyday activities were actually small forms of exercise that kept your muscles moving.
Telecommuting, on the other hand, limits your space. Avoid becoming sluggish by using part of your lunchS90-08A break to exercise. Walk the dog or jog for half an hour around the neighborhood. During the cold season, exercise indoors. You have to remain active if you want to be healthy and happy, so dust off your running shoes and get moving!
