Raven is a comic book and animated character from the Teen Titans. She has a range of skills that include the ability to teleport herself and fight. She also has incredible self control because when she gets angry her powers come alive and can be very hard to control. These days in her animated form, Raven is a very different looking character than how she originally appeared in the 1980s comics. For one she has a much younger body and a slightly different demeanor.
Raven's popularity today stems primarily from the Teen Titans animated series. The thing with Raven is that many teens today feel they can relate to the character, especially those who consider themselves Emo or Goth.
Raven is an integral member of the Teen Titans, oftentimes she advises the other Titans on certain matters and in the main she remains very calm, even when the going gets tough. She has had a tough life really, being the daughter of Trigon, who is the epitome of all things evil. She has managed to see the light though and eventually she destroys her father. Her most famous spell is Azarath Metrion Zinthos! She recites this mantra in order to activate her powers and mentally prepare herself for battle. Interestingly if Raven is prevented from reciting this then her powers won't activate and she'll be rendered helpless!
Necronom Hezberek Mortix! This spell is to be used with extreme caution! It's incredibly powerful, and I mean uber-powerful. It was taught to her by the character Malchoir, but seriously should not be used unless there is no other alternative and death is the only outcome.
